Westwinds is a five-storey building located in downtown, Squamish on Third Avenue, behind the Chieftain Centre.
With 232 affordable rental homes for low to moderate income seniors.
Residents have access to a range of amenities, including a fitness area, multi-purpose common areas and storage space for personal items, bicycles and scooters.
Everything is within walking distance, groceries, drug store, medical services and shops.
We have 360 degree mountain views and a courtyard with 28 garden plots, bocce court, barbeque area and a gathering spot with a gazebo and gas fireplace.
Westwinds is home to an active and engaged community of seniors who thrive in their diverse range of interests, passions, hobbies or games.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR RESIDENCY?
Seniors 55 or older who meet our income and asset thresholds.
Must be able to live independently. No medical staff are on the premises.
Must pass screening, which includes reference checks and income screening.
We will keep applicants who pass screening on file and review them as units become available. We consider each applicant's financial need and social need.
Applicants must be a resident of B.C. for one full year before being accepted for residency. Preference is given to residents of Squamish and the Sea to Sky Corridor.
In order to keep your application active, applicants are expected to check in at least once per year with the office to update their status. Applications that have inaccurate information or no contact for over two years will be removed from the waitlist.
